Listening to the Diocese
The search for our next bishop begins by listening. In early 2027, the Search & Transition Committee will invite people from across the Diocese of Alaska to share their experiences, hopes, challenges, and vision for our life together.
What we hear through this process will help shape our diocesan profile and guide the Search & Transition Committee as it begins the work of discerning candidates for our ninth bishop.
Listening sessions will begin in early 2027.
Opportunities to participate will include in-person gatherings throughout the Diocese as well as online sessions. Dates, locations, and information about how to participate will be posted here as they become available.
What we learn through the listening and discernment process will help us tell the story of the Episcopal Diocese of Alaska—who we are, where God is calling us, and what we are seeking in our next bishop.
Our diocesan profile will be published here when it is complete.
As the search progresses, information about the Diocese of Alaska and our bishop search will also be available through The Episcopal Church's Office for Transition Ministry.
Links and application information will be posted here when the search opens
